“Go Tell It From the HIGH MOUNTAIN”

MARCH 30, 2020

Three weeks since we worshipped together in the sanctuary and two weeks of our physical distancing.  Our phone calls to those listed in our directory are going well and its nice to be able to speak with people and provide Pastor Lou with the feedback.

This newsletter has two purposes.  One is to keep you informed about grocery store and other services that you may find helpful and two to keep you informed about special things members of our community are doing

Giving Thanks

Tina O’Shea is doing a wonderful thing.  She has organized “Wyckoff Helping Healthcare Heroes”.  This is a program to show support for our healthcare workers who are overwhelmed and overworked.  In addition to supporting the local restaurants, the program has unified people from Wyckoff, Ramsey and Ridgewood residents to help deliver meals to our local hospitals.

She is joined by Samara Klein Latronica and Karen Seminara Patton and together they are making this happen.  As of Sunday night (March 29) this group has raised $24,090 and have helped provide 607 meals for Valley, Hackensack and Holy Name hospitals.  In addition they have helped support Wyckoff Deli, 3 Chicas, Jersey Mike’s, Pizzeria Mandara, Parkwood Deli, The Barn, Blue Moon and Pizza Love.  They are ready to provide another 752 meals this week which Chef Angie, Rocca, TS Ma, Country Café and Midland Park Bagels are preparing.

What a great idea, what a wonderful act of kindness and what a wonderful way to say thank you to those providing care and support to patients in these three hospital.  If you would like to donate to support this wonderful giving program please go to Venmo@Tina-OShea-3.

Thank you Tina, Samara and Karen for organizing and continuing your mission of serving our healthcare workers.   You can follow Wyckoff Helping Healthcare Heroes on Facebook.

Prayer Wall

Pastor Lou has started a “Prayer Wall”, similar to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, Israel.  He welcomes prayer requests from everyone.  He will print them, fold them up and place them on the “Prayer Wall” where he will pray for all of the requests that come in.  Please feel free to pray for people, situations, relationships, and anything that is waying on your heart.  You can send him your request by:

  1. Calling him at 908-930-5705
  2. Texting him at 908-930-5705
  3. Email him at revlouie@aol.com

If you have information regarding businesses who can support our church community or stories about what our community is doing to help others, please email me at skroll2@optonline.net.  We are not sure how often we will publish our “Go Tell it From the High Mountain” but stay tuned for future editions.
