Palm Sunday Hospitality

The church finds itself in a situation where we have no one to provide Hospitality on Sunday, March 25, Palm Sunday.  Please consider helping us on one of our most important Sundays of the year.  If interested, please call the office at 201-891-0511.  Thank you!

This lesson is based on Jeremiah 31: 33-34. It describes how in God’s new covenant, he promises to write his laws in our hearts. He also assures us that he will be a personal God and all, from the least to the greatest, will have full access to him. We will color and discuss the 10 commandments worksheet, and the Golden Rule. We will also write on a personal scroll the rules we have most difficulty following so we can pray about them. These might include not having self-control, not forgiving, being mean, etc.. I pray for the children to continue to open their hearts for such an embracing and ever-loving personal God.

One Great Hour of Sharing

The four church wide offerings of the Presbyterian Church USA play an important role in defining what it means to be a connectional church in twenty first century. Bringing together the diversity of PC(USA) to focus and take action on shared concerns. The Offering collectively participate in ministries of compassion, justice, Christian formation, education, peacemaking, and global witness.

During the season of Lent: ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING is the single largest way Presbyterians come together every year to work for a better world. We share God’s love with our neighbors in need around the world by providing relief from natural disasters, food for the hungry, and support for the poor and oppressed.

New Music and Flower Memorials

As we celebrate Holy Week and Easter you have the opportunity to name a memorial or tribute in the worship bulletin.  In the past few years we have simply provided that for each Memorial or Tribute we would place a flower in the sanctuary and list the name of the person you requested to be honored.  This year we are adding the opportunity for you to give to the music ministry fund, as well.  So, this year you may do as before and name a person to be remembered or honored with a flower and in addition or instead you may also choose to make a contribution to the music program.  The tributes that are signaled with flowers (Lilies or Tulips ) are $10.00 and the music memorials are $20.00.  The money you give for flowers will be used to purchase flowers for decorating on Easter Sunday. The money you give for music will be used on Easter and other holidays throughout the year to bring soloists and instrumentalist to enhance our worship experience.  Please use the order form, attached with this PM, to let us know what you would like to do to enhance our gatherings at Easter this year.
